Due to a dispute over a hotel bill Cass Elliot from The Mamas And The Papas spent the night in a London. Cass was being charged with stealing two hotel blankets, two keys, and an unpaid hotel bill. A TV and concert appearance had to be cancelled. The charges against Mama Elliot were later dropped.

Johnny Kidd/Frederick Heath (30) - UK frontman and singer with Johnny Kidd & the Pirates; hit songs from the late 1950s to the late 1960s, and are remembered for appearing onstage in pirate costumes, complete with eye-patches. He was one of the pre-Beatles British rock and rollers to achieve worldwide fame (car crash; near Radcliffe, Manchester, while on tour).
